Create or join fast

Pangu is built to start without a sign-in wall. Create a group, or join with a 9-character code, and add structure only when the group needs it.

Pending members

Add now, claim later

If someone is not ready to join yet, add them as a pending member and send a claim link later so the group can keep moving.

Settlement statement

Share the final transfers

Group Home now includes a settlement statement flow so the final transfers can be reviewed, shared, or printed without asking everyone to interpret the full settle-up screen.

Useful Information

  • Use a 9-character code to join an existing group.
  • If approval is required, creators or owners can review join requests and members receive approval or denial updates.
  • If duplicate member records appear later, the group owner can merge them from Group Settings when Advanced Member Management is enabled.
  • Account emails are verified with a one-time code before they are saved or updated. On another device, verifying that same email can show a Connect Data prompt when saved data already exists for it.
  • Your payment method (Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, UPI, Interac, Pix, PayNow, DuitNow, Wise, Revolut, and more) is suggested automatically based on the currency you choose to receive payments in, and can be changed anytime in My Settings or Group Settings.
  • Each group keeps one ledger currency. Expenses and settlements can still be entered in another currency, and Pangu stores the original amount together with the locked conversion used for the group record.
  • My Settings also lets you choose an all-group display currency so cross-group totals can be viewed in one currency while each group keeps its own ledger currency.
  • My Settings now includes Delete My Data for account-level deletion from inside the app.
  • Add Expense supports Multiple Payers when more than one person covered the cost — enter each payer's amount, split it evenly, or use Balance For Me to fill in the rest.
  • Add Expense supports Split later when you want to save the amount first and assign member splits afterward.
  • When assigning a Split later expense, all members can be preselected first so you can deselect only the people who should not be included.
  • Recurring expenses can be enabled per group by the owner, and then any member in that group can add recurring shared costs.
  • Closeout mode helps temporary groups finish split-later cleanup, pending confirmations, and remaining balances before archive.
  • Group owners can correct the split or category on a shared expense paid by someone else without changing the amount or payer.
  • Group Home includes a settlement statement with the final transfers for the whole group and simple share or print actions.
  • My Expenses multi-item receipt scans can create one parent expense with linked line items under it.
  • Each AI receipt scan uses 1 AI Scan Credit. New accounts start with free credits — 25 for an anonymous account, up to 50 total once you add a verified account email — and more can be purchased in the app as a 50-credit pack ($2.99) or a 100-credit pack ($4.99).
  • All My Groups now gives a cross-group owe or owed overview and lets you open any group directly, with quick Settle Up entry for groups that still need payment.
  • Insights gives you summary totals, quick facts, top expenses, settlement progress, and interactive money-flow charts.
FAQ

Common questions

Do I need an account before creating a group?

No. Pangu is anonymous-first. You can create or join a group right away, then add a verified account email later if you want recovery and cross-device reconnect support.

Who can use recurring expenses?

The group owner turns recurring expenses on for that group. Once enabled, anyone in the group can add recurring shared expenses there.

What does closeout mode actually do?

Closeout mode helps the group finish cleanly before archive. It highlights split-later expenses, pending settlement confirmations, and remaining balances that still need attention.

Can I keep private expenses separate from group expenses?

Yes. My Expenses stays separate from group spending, and you can move an expense into or out of a group later when life changes.

Can more than one person pay for the same expense?

Yes. Turn on Multiple Payers when adding an expense to record exactly how much each person paid. You can enter each amount directly, split the total evenly, or use Balance For Me to fill in the rest so your own balance for that expense comes out even.

What are AI Scan Credits and what do they cost?

AI Scan Credits pay for AI-powered receipt scanning — each scan uses 1 credit. Every account starts with free credits: 25 for an anonymous account, and up to 50 total once you add a verified account email. If you need more, you can buy additional credits in the app as a 50-credit pack for $2.99 or a 100-credit pack for $4.99.
