Privacy Policy

1 Data storage

UDo Lend stores lending data locally on the user's device. The app does not require account creation and does not upload lending records to a remote server operated by UDo Lend.

2 Data the app may process

• Names and phone numbers entered or imported for borrowers
• Item and book details entered by the user
• Photos the user chooses to attach to items (stored locally only)
• Loan history, notes, reminder settings, and app preferences

3 Contacts permission

If the user chooses to import a borrower from the device address book, UDo Lend requests Contacts access. Contacts are used only to let the user select and copy a name or phone number into the app.

4 Camera permission

If the user chooses to scan an ISBN barcode or capture a photo for an item, UDo Lend requests camera access. The camera is only used for those user-initiated features.

5 Photo library permission

If the user chooses to attach a photo from their library, UDo Lend requests photo library access. Photos are only used for user-selected attachments inside the app and are compressed on-device before storage.

6 Notifications

If the user enables reminders, UDo Lend schedules local notifications on-device to help the user remember outstanding loans. No notification data is sent to external servers.

7 Face ID / Touch ID

If the user enables biometric unlock, UDo Lend uses the device's built-in authentication system. Biometric information is never collected or stored by UDo Lend.

8 iCloud Sync

UDo Lend includes an optional iCloud Sync feature the user can enable in Settings. When enabled:

• Lending metadata (items, books, borrowers, loan records) is written to Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage under the user's own Apple ID.
• This data is synced by Apple's infrastructure to other devices on the same Apple ID. UDo Lend has no access to this data on Apple's servers.
• Photos are stored locally only and are not included in iCloud Sync.
• A randomly generated device identifier is stored solely to detect whether a sync snapshot originated from a different device. It cannot identify the user and is not shared with UDo Lend or any third party.

9 External services

When a user scans or enters an ISBN, the app may request book metadata from Open Library to autofill title, author, and cover art. Only the ISBN value is sent — no personal or account information is transmitted.

10 SMS reminders and calling

When the user chooses to send a reminder, UDo Lend opens the device's default messaging app pre-filled with a message. UDo Lend does not send messages or place calls without explicit user action.

11 Data deletion

All locally stored data can be erased via Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete All On-Device Data. To remove iCloud data, disable iCloud Sync in Settings → iCloud Sync. Uninstalling the app also deletes local data per the operating system's behavior.

12 Children's privacy

UDo Lend is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a backend account system.

13 Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at the same public URL used for the app's App Store privacy policy link.
